As an artistic career extends over a long period of time, it can take on different forms at different times. Abstraction has become my principal preoccupation together with a rekindled passion for printmaking.
Abstraction provides for an immediacy not always available when producing figurative work. The images can come from a memory, a sensation and can represent in a different way.
Ancient places of worship, musical themes and nature itself all inspire and can be just as intangible as they are observed. Colours can be an emanation of light and can be concerned with the sublime. There is always a new way of seeing.
